Nurturing the wild things

This morning a hard frost settled on trees and grass, a beautiful scene. Blackbirds, sparrows, finches, robin, blue tit all eager for food. Wild things struggle to survive no matter what the weather, but in particular when the ground is frozen. A badger lay in a heap on the bank of a busy road, probably hit by a car during the night whilst out scavenging. A buzzard perched on a telegraph post scanning a field ahead, a little further on a kestral on the lookout for signs of life below, all hunting for their next meal, for some a matter of life or death.

So when you look out of your window remember the wild things. They need our help, a little shelter, a little food will aid them, get them through the lean times.
